How cabling is done makes a huge difference to the reliability and serviceability of a network.
Cabling is regulated and must be performed by registered cablers.
Electricians are often licenced to run and terminate ethernet cables, but normally specialist data cablers do a much better job.
If you are getting an electrician or data cabler, it is important that;
- – All network cabling terminate at a socket or patch bay, not a bare terminated network lead, and all connections are labelled.
- – If the connections go to a network rack, the are terminated at a patch bay.
- – Ethernet runs are not joined and do not exceed 100m.
No terminating to bare leads
All outlets clearly labelled
